One Year With Tailored® Personalized Dog Food | Update

Around this time last year, we made the jump and personalized Duke’s food with Tailored — a pet food company that allows you to tailor your dog’s food to meet their needs. Improved digestion, better mobility, weight support, or a healthier skin and coat, Tailored crafts a vet-approved, personalized blend to meet your dog’s unique needs.

In part one of our review of Tailored dog food, we talked about why we transitioned Duke to Tailored and how Tailored works. In part two of our review of Tailored dog food, we checked in about 30 days into Duke’s transition to Tailored and shared our thoughts.

ONE YEAR TAILORED REVIEW

One year later, we are still feeding Duke Tailored, and we’ve started to transition Navy to Tailored as well (more on that later in this post). In our 30-day Tailored review, we mentioned how we can work with Tailored’s expert customer care team to adjust our recipe or subscription at any time. For example, a few months into feeding Duke his original Tailored recipe, we decided to switch it up a bit and adjust his primary protein from chicken to beef (something that we learned he prefers).

Each shipment comes with a gift and personalized stickers! We were pleasantly surprised to see that a new gift was included with each shipment — tennis balls, tug toys, waste bag holders, brushes, stickers, and so much more. We’ve stashed away most of Duke’s stickers to use when labeling his food for sitters when we are out of town.

One year later, we’ve noticed that with Tailored, Duke has remained a healthy weight and has improved digestion (good, solid poops!). In short, we love how easy and convenient Tailored makes feeding your pet the best for their needs at an affordable price.

NAVY’S TRANSITION TO TAILORED

Navy has always been an incredibly happy and healthy dog. In August, we took her to the vet for her annual wellness check. We expected the vet to tell us yet again that Navy was perfectly fine and in excellent health. Well, we were surprised to hear that though Navy was a healthy weight, she was teetering on the higher end of what a healthy weight range should be. Navy needed to lose a pound or two.

The vet also found tartar buildup behind Navy’s back teeth — an area that we hadn’t seen, and she hadn’t let us get to when we manually brushed her teeth. So with this, we decided to try something different with Navy’s food and transition her to Tailored.

Getting started with Tailored was just as easy for Navy as when we first started with Duke one year ago. We simply visited TailoredPet.com and took a short quiz, answering questions about the Navy’s age, activity level, size, sensitivities, and wellness goals.

After completing the quiz, we had the option to subscribe to Navy’s personalized recipe. Also, we were allowed to add Tailored’s recently launched Soft & Chewy Treats to our subscription. These new treats are designed to meet the needs of your pup with ingredients like Omega 6 for a shiny coat and glucosamine for mobility support. After completing our order, Tailored quickly shipped our order in recyclable packaging.

We are just two weeks into Navy’s transition to Tailored. Navy is a picky pup, so we transitioned her to her new Tailored recipe slowly. Both Navy and Duke love Tailored’s Soft & Chewy heart-shaped treats. They start to drool when we pull out the treat bags! Though we have not had enough time to notice any differences in Navy, we are excited about the possibility! Personally, I hope she will lose the weight needed to put her back in the middle of her healthy weight range. We are also hoping to see improvements in Navy’s dental health.

Thanks for checking in with us and reading our post. We will provide updates on Navy’s transition on our Instagram. Feel free to leave your questions in the comments section below.
